BOLD BLAZIN

It is the era of the blazer phenomenon. Taking a trend that has been alive for decades and constantly redefining it. The blazer has evolved into much more with a variety of colors, textures, patterns, and overall fit to choose from. I tend to pick one statement piece for each look I pull together - and a bold blazer always seems to do the trick. The structure of this Double Breasted Windowpane Plaid blazer from Topshop is more of an oversized fit which I tend to prefer being that I am more of a casual dresser. The green accent color is a perfect hue for Spring. These patent leather pants add that bit of edge to make this look go from day to night. The weather in New York is confusing lately so boots are still an option (however I feel like I'll be wearing boots or sneakers even as the temp increases). PUFF PUFF, PASS THE LOVE

Sometimes you need to take a step back from everything in life to appreciate what you have in the moment and to understand that not all your dreams can be accomplished overnight. More importantly, you have to love yourself before anything. I read an article recently written by Alexandra Harra on Huff Post titled "The Art of Self-Love"  (highly recommended for everyone) and it really inspired me to take some time for myself and do more of what makes me happy.

What stood out to me in her piece was when she said "I would come to find out that there was nothing missing within me — nothing wrong with me and nothing that I didn’t deserve. Through honest reflection and a mindful shift, I rediscovered the secret hiding place of my self-love. It was all there where I had left it — perfectly". With the New Year approaching, I made a pact to: do more of what I love, cut out negative influences, release love to myself, and thrive on creativity.

Now on to the good stuff, the Puffer Coat is probably my most overused piece this season. It's always my go-to when I'm running out of the house. I find that they're super cozy, surprisingly keep you warm, and instantly make any look a bit more edgy. The only issue I have is that I want them all...in my closet...now. Free People kills it with outerwear EVERY YEAR. This cropped slouchy green number from Free People was actually purchased at a discounted price on Revolve (keep your eyes on the radar for those sales). Scroll down for the direct link to my coat along with other current favorites.

Cheers ya'll!

The limit does not exist when it comes to coats. The Puffer trend is one of my top favorites this season - I'm loving the way this pop-of green meshes with the black.

IN THE 70's GROOVE

Taking a style cue from one of my favorite movie characters of all time, Penny Lane played by Kate Hudson in Almost Famous. If you have yet to watch the film, please do so! In the movie she wears this dreamy coat with fluffy fur lining. If there's one obsession I have, its with coats. I gravitate towards leather, faux fur, wool, prints, neutrals and pop of colors. I just don't think one can ever have enough coats.

In addition to this obsession, I also love a good pair of girlfriend jeans. Free People is my go-to for comfort, fit, style, and affordability. I'm not one to spend a lot on a look, I can appreciate clothing at all price ranges and know what I can and can't afford. I prefer spending on basic pieces that I can wear all the time. Sample Sales are amazing if you go at the right time. I recently went to the Parker Sample Sale (not a brand I typically buy from) and bought the cutest sequin tube tops! I love funky pieces that instantly make an outfit pop. To top this look off, I brought out my must-have boots of the season; these white Nine West beauties (current trend fyi). ITS ALL SET

Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend *Sunday scaries slowly creeping in*. I spent my Saturday in the city with some friends then made it to Long Beach for the day! If I could live on the beach I probably would. The weather we've been having here in New York has been insanely beautiful! I'm personally not a huge fan of August because it means saying goodbye to beach days, Summer Fridays, etc.. but i'm looking forward to September and hopefully this weather will keep at it.

What I really like about Summer attire is how easily it can transition into a Fall look. To be honest, I don't specifically shop for Summer clothing...I rather splurge on a ton of Fall items such as booties, knit sweaters, coats, etc. You can pretty much rock any of your favorite Summer pieces in the Fall; whether it be layering a cute dress over a knit sweater or a crop top with a cool pair of pants. As long as you're having fun with it, thats all that matters. I'm always inspired by style icons, editorial work, and art which I try to incorporate in each look. Inspiration is everywhere. Lately I've been testing out different trends to see what looks good on my body type. I don't always gravitate towards wearing sets because I find that when I purchase them they never look right on me. Either the top is too cropped or not cropped enough or the pants are way too short on me. I find that when I create my own set, it ends up fitting a lot better. For more on my look, scroll down and don't forget to check out my style picks! See you all in September!

Culotte pants are another trend will be seeing a lot more of in the next Season. I will say, you really need to try them on in person. I would suggest buying them in store so you can get a feel of how they fit.

As far as finding a top to match, crop tops are ideal for this look because the pants go a bit over the belly.

These pants are from Zara (unfortunately not in stock anymore! but don't worry they have so many more similar ones to choose from available now).

These earrings give me major d i s c o vibes! I seriously love all of the jewelry from Free People.

ONE SLEEVE IS BETTER THAN NONE

Hi my lovelies! Before I get into this look, I wanted to say a quick thank you to each of you who have reached out to show your love and support. I appreciate you all so much. If there's once piece of advice I have to share - its to follow your heart, set goals, and do not give up. Make connections, start networking, and help each other! I have met so many creative minds along this journey and I can't wait to see what the future holds.

Now on to my look! I've been into one sleeve tops - they're super cute, sexy, and effortless. My top is from Nasty Gal (btw there's a 50% off deal going on right now...) but can also be found on Asos in multiple sizes. I don't know what I'd do without jeans. They're my go-to for any occasion and can be styled in several different ways. I am a little picky with brands I purchase from because of the fit since i'm a taller girl - so jeans are one item I allow myself to splurge on. My go to for the perfect fit are Free People, BDG & Gap (all inexpensive) but my favorite pricier options are Rag & Bone, Mother Denim, 3x1, AG, and Frame. At this point you can tell I love a good heel and no I will not stop wearing them even if I tower over everyone around me.
