IN BETWEEN SEASONS x RAG & BONE

In between seasons is a hella confusing time of year but its all the more reason to never take off my favorite shiny black puffer from Zara. No seriously, this is probably my most noteworthy purchase of 2017. Its also an excuse to wear crop tops and rad ski pants until Spring comes through. The most comical part of it all is that I've actually never been skiing before...mainly because I'm afraid of falling and shattering into a million pieces but these Rag & Bone pants were too good to let go. Maybe if it snows again I'll just put them on and stand outside. Another thing to add on to my completely abnormal list of things you shouldn't have done and reasons why you're weird. It's fine, i've accepted it. Side note: since I was a kid I had an obsession with cutting up clothes and re-working my wardrobe hence why I'm always wearing crop tops that are slightly crooked. Clothing would be really boring if you didn't have fun with it. I just don't settle for boring. My brain wouldn't allow that if I tried.

I'm fully for enhancing your favorite pieces and adding your own accessories like I did with these Rag & Bone pants. I have a huge hoarding problem and own way too many miscellaneous chains, buttons, fabrics, etc. from random shops in NYC. Don't get rid of them! They may be that final touch you were looking for.

PANTSUIT x PINSTRIPES

If I could wear a suit everyday, I probably would. Not to say that they all look great on me, because trust there are hits and several misses. Sometimes I think I look like Diane Keaton but I get more Danny Devito vibes, it happens. I've never loved wearing dresses even as a youngin', it was always the masculine apparel that caught my eye. I was far more interested in the neutral & dark tones when it came to clothing. Not to say I don't love a cool monochrome look or playing around with color, but black is deff a go-to. Leith is a brand that doesn't get as much attention as it should. What I love about their brand is how sleek and on-trend they are. Each piece can be mix & matched as you choose. You can shop their clothing at Nordstrom. I styled this Leith Pinstripe Suit (now on sale fyi) with a thin white turtleneck to make the stripes & pearlescent buttons pop.

FALLING FOR FRINGE

I've never been one to gravitate towards fringe pieces, until I found these Electric Feel Pants from Nasty Gal! They come in lace and feature a wide-leg, high-waisted silhouette, and fringe detailing throughout. Not only are they the comfiest pants but all I want to do is dance in them. What I love about these pants is that you can pair it with almost any top. I went for this J.O.A. top from Bloomingdales because the fringe aligned almost perfectly with just enough crop to it and made this feminine trend a bit more edgy (which is more up my alley). I had so much fun with this shoot + the pop of red backdrop is everything. Scroll down for more!

THE OFF THE SHOULDER BUTTON DOWN

Back again and just in time for New York Fashion Week! Who's as excited and exhausted as I am!? Its been a busy but overall fun week. So far, my favorite shows have been Tom Ford, Calvin Klein, Jonathan Simhkhai, Tibi, Ulla Johnson, Alexander Wang, and Public School. I'm absolutely obsessed with their SS18 Collection and loving each trend I'm seeing on the runway.

Luckily, we've been having some amazing weather! Its not Fall just yet - but it pretty much feels like it. I've already whipped out my booties and layering pieces. With the transition of seasons, one can really have fun with their wardrobe. I personally love this time of year because I can put on shorts or a skirt with a pair of booties and a nice button down or thin long sleeve blouse. You can make most of what's hanging in your closet and experiment a bit. For this shoot, I really wanted to bring out my leather Joie shorts that have literally been buried in my closet. Working at Neiman Marcus in college was very dangerous. Half of my paychecks went to their Last Call sales. A trend which has been around for a bit that i've been into lately is the off-the-shoulder button down look. It's a different way to style your typical stripe or plain button down and requires very little effort. Pair it with almost any bottom and you're guaranteed to turn heads. More below on this effortless look!
